Private-Pay Model

Avoiding medical insurance by offering a private-pay model helps us to deliver value-based care that leads to better patient outcomes. While you do pay for everything out of pocket, there are no hidden fees with this model; you will know precisely what they are getting and for how much. In addition, a functional medicine private-pay model places fewer restrictions on types, scopes, and lengths of care, allowing providers to tailor treatment plans accordingly. It is essential to get to the root cause of your underlying illness. We encourage you to do many things through your existing insurance-covered providers when possible. We also accept payments from both HSA/FSA accounts.

What to Expect

Your first stop in your functional medicine journey will be with our medical assistant. We will draw an essential wellness and hormone screening blood panel that will be reviewed with you at your initial visit with your Ori provider. It is a crucial first step in helping to guide us in your care.

At your initial visit, your provider will take your extensive medical history to complete your functional medicine matrix. This matrix will act as a guide to our approach to your precise and unique medical treatment plan. No patient is the same, so your healthcare recommendations will be as unique as you are. Based on your consultation, we will decide if additional specialty lab panels are recommended. Remember, you are in the driver’s seat during this visit, and labs such as genetic testing, micronutrient testing, gut health testing, toxin load, etc., will be ordered and executed based on your specific needs and goals. This will be an ongoing exploration of your health, and it may take some time to get specific answers to what is going on in your body before we can identify the corrective or preventative measures needed.

How To Prepare

Please complete all your paperwork before your visit and arrive on time so you can use your time wisely during our consultation. Please arrive at the office before noon and fast for at least 8 hours for your lab visit. Because we are drawing hormone panels on your first visit, please note your last menstrual period if you are a female who menstruates. Avoid supplements within 5 days of your initial consultation, if possible.

Taking a functional medicine holistic approach to your visit may still include using pharmaceuticals. We order all our pharmaceuticals from a local compounding pharmacy to ensure that unnecessary additives are not in your medications. We recommend top-of-the-line supplements based on your needs and send easy ordering links directly to you after your visit to take out the guesswork of choosing quality supplements. We will also guide you on a nutritional plan that meets your body’s unique needs and goals, whether an anti-inflammatory diet or weight-loss nutrition guides. We prescribe specific peptides that can boost your weight loss/ health journey, but we also provide the support you need to discontinue these products as needed as you heal your gut.

Your healthcare journey is special and unique. Schedule your functional medicine visit by calling 281-990-1696.

FAQ

A functional medicine approach is suitable for individuals of all ages seeking a comprehensive approach to health. It’s particularly beneficial for those with chronic conditions, unexplained symptoms, or anyone looking to optimize their overall wellness. Functional Medicine can address autoimmune disorders, digestive issues, hormonal imbalances, and metabolic disorders.

Results vary depending on individual health concerns. Some patients may notice improvements within weeks, while others may take several months. Functional Medicine focuses on addressing root causes and making sustainable changes, so progress is often gradual but long-lasting.

Results can be long-lasting when patients commit to recommended lifestyle changes and follow-up care. Regular check-ins with your Functional Medicine practitioner and adherence to your personalized plan help maintain and enhance results over time.

Functional Medicine typically doesn’t involve downtime as it focuses on non-invasive interventions. Generally, side effects are minimal, but some patients may experience temporary adjustments as their body adapts to new regimens. Your practitioner will monitor progress and make adjustments as needed.

Before treatment, gather medical records and prepare to discuss your health history. Keep a log of symptoms, diet, and lifestyle habits. After starting treatment, follow your practitioner’s recommendations closely, including dietary changes and supplement regimens. Stay consistent and communicate regularly about your progress.

Expect comprehensive consultations, possibly including extensive lab tests. You’ll receive a personalized treatment plan that may include dietary recommendations, supplement protocols, and lifestyle modifications. Regular follow-up appointments will monitor progress and adjust the plan as needed.
